Day two
Where the hungry cling to life
Where the thirsty cry out for rain
Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
Here in the book of Chronicles, God is calling His people back after their rebellion, He is wanting to return their inheritance, their promised land. Restoration here means something different to how we are praying today.
The restoration we seek is a healing of the land in places where there is such severe drought nothing can grow. Places where both animals and people are dying for either lack of water or too much water. Places where desolation has become a way of life due to hurricanes, mudslides, earthquakes and more.
Although the restoration we seek may different, I believe the way to reach God’s heart remains the same. We need to humble ourselves, to pray, to seek His face and turn from things we know to be wrong. It’s on our knees that we will find breakthrough.
