Rohingya Crisis – Myanmar and Bangladesh

• 655,000 refugees had to flee to Bangladesh. Called a ‘textbook example of ethnic cleansing’ by the UN.

• Government has heavily restricted foreign aid and international goodwill towards leader, Aung San Su Kyi, is dissipating drastically.

• Pray for wisdom for international aid givers to show them how best to help, opening of hearts of the leaders. Peace for Bangladesh leaders as they deal with numerous refugees in a very small area with no jobs

Yemen

• 8 million on the brink of famine, 1 million declared cholera cases, 3 million internationally displaced persons.

• The war is now a threat to other Gulf states as missile firing from the Houthis, the old coalition partners of the Yemen government, is threatening their borders

• Pray for stability in the government, assassinations and changing of coalition parties has lead to high instability

• Aid of medicine, food and refuge for the civilians of Yemen

The Sahel region of Africa (Mali)

• Struggling to manage intercommunal conflict, jihadi violence and fights over smuggling routes

• Instability continues to spread in the region and is now spreading into neighboring countries, Niger and Burkina Faso.

• International response is purely pumping weaponry and inciting deadlier fights in the region

• Pray for the government to gain authority, wisdom in international response, diffusion of local quarrels and prevention of jihadi violence.
